Benjamin stumbled backwards, the drooping stems of a few milkvetch flowers and Forget-Me-Not's in his hand. His cheeks flushed.
"Where did you get those?" was the only reply I could manage.
"I—I asked Hanna…er…to get them from the meadow this morning…I wanted to—to apologise," stuttered Benjamin.
"Because I didn't tell you about London and I was rude to you and I feel awful for it. Honestly, I do. I'm sorry: I was being i
